Obituary of Scott D. Sherwood June 12, 2026

Scott D. Sherwood passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by his family, in the early hours of July 11, 2025, after a valiant battle with stage 4 esophageal cancer, including 19 hospitalizations.

Scott was a young, athletic 72, active until his unexpected diagnosis in March 2024. He retired from Eagleview Corp. in 2017 to travel the world with his wife Carol and continue ski instructing at Bristol Mountain for a total of 54 years!

He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Marian Sherwood, his brother Ross and his beloved youngest son, Matthieu. Besides his loving wife of 48yrs he is survived by his devoted sons, Spencer and Alexandre, sister Jane, brother-in-law Eric Neill (Joan), sister-in-law Paula Sherwood and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. McGreevy’s team at Wilmot Cancer Center for their incredible, empathetic support.

You are cordially invited to a reception and Celebration of Life honoring Scott Sherwood at 112 San Gabriel Dr, Rochester, NY 14610 on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 3-6 PM.

Scott requested that we remember him at our home of 26 years. Friends are invited (but not required) to bring a written memory or photo for the family’s memory book. Friends are also invited to speak at 4:00.

Scott touched many people and will be greatly missed by them.

A mass will be offered for Scott at St Catherine of Sienna Church, 26 Mendon Ionia Rd, Mendon, NY 14506 on Sunday, September 7th, at 10:45 AM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to an environmental conservation group of your choice.
