Geraldine Mary Zajchowski
July 20, 1939 – January 16, 2026

Geraldine Mary Zajchowski, passed peacefully on January 16, 2026. She was born on July 20, 1939, in Lafayette, Louisiana, and spent most of her life in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Gerry retired from Eastern Etching in Chicopee Mass and relocated with her husband Ronnie to Largo Florida. When Ronnie passed, she moved to Victor New York to be near her family.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald “Ronnie” Zajchowski, and her sons, Walter Kaplan and Roland Kaplan.

She leaves behind her daughters, Theresa Collette and Chris Paquin; her grandchildren, Melanie Jensen, Roland “Bubba” Kaplan, Stephanie Cole, and Amanda Dionne; and her great- grandchildren, Ayden Renaud, Mya Barnard, Skye Barnard, Arianna Dionne, Layla Habberfield, Tristen Cole, and Noah Cole.

Geraldine’s passions were dancing, music, and travel, and she especially loved the beach and the ocean. She attended every local concert she could and danced for as long as her body would allow, never letting age slow down her spirit. Even in her later years, she remained active, faithfully going to the gym and physical therapy twice a week.

She always had a smile for everyone and a heart for bringing people together. Geraldine took pride in brightening her apartment building, decorating for every holiday and encouraging neighbors to join her in planting flowers each spring. Through these simple, loving acts, she created beauty, connection, and joy wherever she lived.

Geraldine will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Ronnie, in Chicopee, Massachusetts, in early spring. Geraldine will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her kindness, and the light she brought into the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the many hearts she touched and the family she loved so deeply.

Services will be held on April 18, 2026. Mass will be held at 10AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 566 Front St. Chicopee, Mass, followed by burial.
