In Loving Memory of Dana Elston – August 2nd, 1955 ~ May 14th, 2025
Dana Elston, a vibrant soul and loyal friend, passed away leaving behind a legacy defined by spontaneity, resilience, and an unwavering presence in the lives of those he loved. Born with the spirit of a shooting star, Dana was never one to follow the traditional path—he lived life entirely on his own terms.
At just 16, he set out into the world with little more than his motorcycle and a few tie-dye shirts. By 19, he became the youngest franchisee in IHOP’s history, later owning multiple locations before pivoting into a successful 35-year career as a stockbroker and wealth manager. Despite his professional success, Dana’s true measure was his steadfast loyalty. If he was your friend, he was always there.
Life brought both triumphs and trials, and Dana met each with grit, humor, and heart. He was a devoted father and grandfather, striving to be present even through pain, always seeking connection and meaning in the moments that mattered most.
He is survived by his brother Meredith; his four children, Tracy, Jason, Alexis, and Cassandra; and his beloved grandchildren Ana, Skylar, Jaxon, Cadence, and soon-to-arrive Cooper.
In Dana’s own words, “It’s never too late if you never give up.” He didn’t.
He is remembered not for being predictable, but for being fiercely loyal, deeply human, and, above all, always there.
